About Us

Our Story

Astra Business Solutions was first formed in May, 2005 by First National Bank, Hays, Kansas and Mel Waite, Ellinwood, under the name National Billing, LLC for the purpose of financing and servicing account receivable portfolios for business clients throughout the Midwest.  They recognized that business owners needed financial services that could help them with cash flow issues, which are commonplace in businesses that extend credit to their customers. In January, 2013, the majority stock ownership was acquired by Astra Bank as part of the sale of First National Bank assets. Effective January 1, 2022, National Billing formally changed its name to Astra Business Solutions. Astra Business Solutions maintains its affiliation with Astra Bank, among other financial institutions, as a source of dependable capital.

Astra Business Solutions has maintained its location in Ellinwood, Kansas throughout this time, and currently services business clients in 8 midwestern states. Business clients are comprised of retailers, manufacturers, distributors, medical services and professionals, agricultural dealers both equipment and services, repair shops and tradesman such as plumbers, mechanics, electricians and heating/cooling technicians. While many business clients come to us as a means of solving a cash flow need, most have continued because of the level of service and receivable management expertise provided.

Since its inception, Astra Business Solutions has emphasized dependable and personal service with the highest degree of integrity. A tremendous amount of pride is taken in serving our business clients and helping them succeed. The importance of prompt funding of receivables is constantly emphasized, while maintaining the oversight and portfolio management for each business client.
